"Hey," I felt a light tap on my left shoulder from behind.
I was turned to him, "where have you been, Maxime?"
He lying on the ground next to me. We used to go to the park near the school to lie on the ground under a shady tree, read books and talk.
Maxime closed his eyes, "I'm sick of my parents." He mumbled.
I know perfectly well how Maxime's family is, and he tells me about his parents constantly arguing.
"Have you had lunch?" I asked him, his face looks tired.
He shook his head. "Do you have anything for lunch, Aldric?" He opened his eyes slowly. "I'm starving enough."
I dug through my bag, pulling out a turkey and sandwich, "I only have this." I muttered.
He sitting straight up from the ground, "who cares?", he mumbled carelessly, taking a bite.
"Oh, I almost forgot." I took a letter out of my pocket, "for you," I handed a letter to him.
"From whom?" he frowned, as looked at the letter.
I cuckled. "Did you forget that you were the idol of the girls at school?" raising my eyebrow.
Maxime sighed, rolling his eyes. "I can change your appearance if you want." Maxime poked my shoulder.
"Thanks, but I'm comfortable with how I look right now." I smiled, pushing up the black square-rimmed glasses up to the bridge of my nose.
"But, with you looking like this, a lot of our classmates continuously mocked you. Right?" he asked to me.
"That's not big deal for me." I paused, staring at the sky. "I don't need a lot of fake friends, I just need one friend who can truly accept me for who I am." I threw an arm around his shoulder, "it's you."
"Oh man you makes me speechless." His pupils grew large.
I burst into a misfit of uncontrollable laughter.
*
My father was the owner of one of high class schools in this town and the owner of the school where I'm studying right now.
My father was the only child of my grandfather and runed the school that my great-grandfather had built.
I'm the only child of my parents, but that doesn't mean I'm being a spoiled and dissipate boy with my parents' treasure. I prefer a simple life as my parents have taught me since childhood.
I was at a restaurant with my dad, after we spend quality time together playing golf and fishing.
"Aldric!" suddenly a voice called behind me.
Turning around, I found Maxime walking toward me. "Is this you?" His eyes raked over me, up and down, staring at me with disbelieve.
"A..."
Before I could say anything, "where your eyeglass?" Maxime urged me to speak.
"And Mr. Hams?" turning his attention away from me toward my dad.
I took a deep breath, "he is my dad." I admitted.
"Hai, are you Maxime?" my dad smiled, holding his hand out for him to shake.
Maxime nodded, he gave my dad a small smile. He took my dad's hand.
"Aldric told me so much about you." My dad said. "Thank you for being a good friend to my son." My dad smiled.
"It is because he forced me." He said innocently.
I rolled my eyes, "don't again man."
